The King

The ultimate performer gets his groove on. His smooth dance moves have inspired many & captivated millions.

Today, at 10.17 a.m. as my driver was taking me to piano lessons, she told me that she heard about Michael Jackson's death on Chinese radio. I thought she was out of her mind, like she didn't know what she was saying. I mean what would she know about him? She barely listened to English music. Who'd know if it was just some mistranslated crap ae? But when I got to my music school, my denial was just that - denial. My teachers confirmed that Michael Jackson DID pass. I didn't know what to say or feel. Words failed me. Just like Lisa Marie Presley.

"I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible," Lisa Marie tells ET. "I am heartbroken for his children who I know were everything to him and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me."

Eccentric pet-lover Michael Jackson bewildered many with his unconventional choices in animal companions.

Memories of Michael began to flood my mind. Besides seeing him in the media, I had seen him on one special occassion at Jerudong Park when I was 4 or 5. He had a mega-concert free for all Bruneians!! We must've been the luckiest country in concert history!! Imagine... A free concert from the King of Pop! People screamed & cried when he appeared onstage. Everyone shoved to get a closer view of the superstar. I remember seeing him perform his world-famous dance moves. He was singing "The Way You Make Me Feel". That song brings back nostalgia from my childhood till this very day. Then, I finally understood what set MJ apart from everyone else. He had an aura that made you feel happy, emotional, ecstatic, electric, dynamic. A barrage of emotions rolled into your body all at once. It was like getting high without the drugs or booze. To put it simply, Michael Jackson had IT.

The "Bad" boy grabs himself in an iconic & much-copied gesture that will always remain his signature.

Michael Jackson (1958-2009): You entertained millions & inspired many more. You will forever be remembered as a man of great passion & generosity. You will never be forgotten. God bless you. May your soul rest in peace. We'll miss you, Michael.

Permanent

Damn. I love this song by David Cook right now. The meaning & everything is so heartfelt. It just tells us that we have to cherish everything good we've got at the mo' because you never know when all this good will be taken away from you. Hence, nothing is permanent.

"As the days are slipping past, the good times never last..."

Dishes

I got up at 08 15 today. Watched TV for a bit. There was a really cool movie on called "Soul Man" on Star Movies. It's about a white man who pretends to be black to get a scholarship to Harvard. I swear, the lead actor, C. Thomas Powell, looks just like Gerald Anderson! From the eyebrows to the grin & everything...

After that, I had breakfast. Ooo yea... We just ran out of Sehat water. Gonna have to tell my mom about that. Then I did the dishes for the first time in weeks... I'm sooooo proud of myself!! Somehow, helping around the house gives me a really warm feeling inside. Like when I wanna puke. Lol. JOKES!

Speaking of dishes, these plates are kinda cool. Can you believe it?! Microwave safe! Hahaha... lol.

Peace out.
